* Today was my annual review at work. Two years, folks! Two years living in Boston! And my supervisor had basically nothing but good things to say, makin' me smile and get all bashful and stuff, and it was generally just good times all around. I will have to hang onto this the next time an asshole professor makes me want to cry at work. (I did actually cry the first week of the semester because of one dude. Fun times.)
* No but seriously, TWO YEARS IN BOSTON. Wild. I have such a great life here, even when parts of it are shitty (THE RED LINE) (students) (dental issues). I have friends, I've made new friends and forged deeper friendships with the people I already knew, I have like five concerts to go to in the next six weeks, I have a wonderful new roommate, it's fall, I have a job that may be wildly frustrating but apparently I'm pretty good at, I think things are good.
* A NEW ROOMMATE in the form of
barbed_whispers, moved from Florida! She's actually on a multistate trip right now, but even our abbreviated first week together was pretty great, and I am very excited about living with her. (Hopefully she is not telling all our friends what a terrible roommate I am.) She got a sparkly pumpkin to hang on our door and we're gonna have a wall of comics art that might just all be Skottie Young's Marvel Babies. I'm stoked.
* I've been writing! Two pieces for
i_reversebang, because I have not yet figured out how to quit that fandom. like a movie loves a screen is an Arthur/Ariadne romcom AU that makes Arthur the heroine (I really need to edit the notes to acknowledge how responsible for the whole thing
littledust is). And there's a sea secret in me is a mythology-fantasy AU, mysteries and revenge and the endless whispering of the sea, and I am really really proud of how that one turned out and the art is AMAZING. Amaaaaaaazing.
* I've been reading! Apparently my attention span goes to shit when I'm not on antidepressants, so being able to finish more than one book in a month is a real highlight. Code Name Verity is as devastating as everyone says it is, EXCEPT MUCH WORSE, and All Our Pretty Songs is gorgeous and basically how I wish I wrote. And also devastating.
* I am watching Sleepy Hollow because it is higoddamnlarious and Nicole Beharie has a great face and I am always 110% there for short ladies ordering around tall awkward dudes. Also,
gvalentine is doing recaps at i09, which are more than worth the price of admission.
* I should probably eat dinner.
