You know, sometimes I wish I didn't recognize fail when I saw it. I would spend so much less time being pissed off.

Becca showed me the pilot of Glee last night. So many layers of racist fail, and disability fail so blatant that it made me go D: repeatedly, and I (sadly, because I need to work on it) am not particularly attuned to disability fail. (trouble is making me recognize it more, for which I thank her, even if she's not doing so deliberately.)

And then today we went to see The Brothers Bloom, which is adorable but contains some pretty racist fail about Rinko Kikuchi's character. (She clearly knows English! Why doesn't she speak ever?)

Sigh. WHY DOES ENTERTAINMENT HAVE TO SUCK.

Glee is deeply upsetting to me, partly because the first time I saw a trailer for it the very first thing I noticed was that the guy in the chair was a prop who was pushed around everywhere, and pointed this out, and was assured it was over-ridden by the fact that he jams on his guitar.

INORITE. I was sitting there squirming the whole time. I mean, I know the SuperCrip thing is also problematic, but come the fuck on. This was egregiously bad. And not only that, I have NO CLUE what anyone's name is. Just their slot.
