Up through about page 50 out of 133. At this rate I'll finish in, oh, March.
Continual State of Inelegance - Jane Austen's Fight Club. Fits perfectly with the video, is also hilarious and a little hot. Also, the water at Bath does taste funky.
Creative Writing 101 - Toy Story. Post-series: Andy is a professor, Bonnie ends up as one of his students, and she writes an epic about Buzz and Woody. SO CUTE.
Dancing through this fiery-blossom'd revel - The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Draws on the original story as well as the ballet, for a post-canon piece that is delicate and lovely and sweet.
The Demon's Price - The Demon's Lexicon. Way less weighty than the title implies, fun and also great capturing of the character voices.
Do Angels Have Souls - The Little Mermaid, Hans Christian Andersen flavor. Sci-fi reimagining. AWESOME.
The Dance of the Faeries - Tam Lin. Janet and Thomas's daughter comes into her own, and finds the legacy that was left by her parents' actions. Awesome OC, great cameos, a fully logical and delightful interpretation of what comes after.
Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Equitable Agency - Encyclopedia Brown. Leroy grows up. So does Sally. Six chapters, including "answer at the bottom of the page" mini-mysteries. Hilarious and unexpectedly touching.
Hard to Find - Echo Bazaar. The Missing Comtessa returns and seeks entrance to the Shuttered Palace. Very interesting perspective, and a great exploration of this plotline. I liked the attention to the details of the setting as well.
Early on a Saturday - Howl's Moving Castle. This is actually
lynstraine's present! AND IT IS THE CUTEST EVER!
Fools Rush In - Chronicles of Chrestomanci. Did you enjoy "The Magicians of Caprona"? THEN YOU NEED TO READ THIS RIGHT NOW. It is perfect. It is plotty and long and funny and scary and one of my favorite things to come out of Yuletide this year.
